In the beginning, I started wearing a fairly cheap pair of blue blockers during the day when I worked indoors during the day with LED or fluorescent lighting. You see I learnt that the fluorescent lighting and the LED lights use up more energy from the mitochondria, so wearing blue blockers is a great way of preserving the energy in the mitochondria for activities that really matter to our bodies and that will make a difference to our day.

Yes; my first pair wasn’t great, but here’s the thing, I wasn’t interested in whether it looked fashionable or not. I was interested in the difference it would make to my energy levels especially since my levels were very low at the time. And wow did they make a huge difference to me to the point that I wore them everywhere I went.

I put them on the top of my head when I was outdoors and wore them when I was

  • Indoors at work
  • In a shop or shopping centre
  • At the movies
  • Out to a restaurant for brunch, lunch or dinner
  • At friends’ homes
  • At the airport
  • On the plane during day flights

A few years ago, I gave everyone in my family a pair for Christmas as I know the value of looking after our eyes and mitochondria and this was such a well-received pressie.

I love that they are becoming more and more popular. This means that more fashionable pairs are now available on the market. I now have 2 pairs of great specs that I was during the day that are prescription blue blocker specs.

I know that I only became aware of minding my mitochondria when my energy levels were really low. You see it was at this point that I focussed on how can I conserve the energy I have so it can go further during the day on the tasks that matter to me. And I haven’t looked back since.

It requires focus and discipline to make this a habit but I promise you it is worth it.

You can try it out with an inexpensive pair of spec. I started with a £22 pair on amazon so you really don’t have to spend a lot in the beginning.

Leave a comment and let me know how you get on. I’d love to hear from you.
