I know this is all overwhelming with everything that is happening around us during lockdown
You feel like you have no control over what is happening around you
You feel like there is nothing you can do right now because you are at home and you are used to having hands-on physio and rehab
I know how important your rehab and support is to you in helping you stay strong and mobile.
But the reality is that
- Your walking has changed,
- You are walking slower It’s harder to lift your legs
- You feel stiffer
- There are aches and pains where in places now because you can’t move as much and in the same way
Wouldn’t it be great to be able to stay flexible and mobile through this crazy time?
Imagine being able to continue to move the way you did before, both now and when lockdown is over?
Right now, you have time.
Time to look after your physical needs without the added distractions that life before lockdown brought I know things have had to change and that we can’t do things in the same way as before Co-Vid19.
There is a new normal of how we do things
And that's ok, in the midst of change, we have been called to be flexible, dynamic, creative and most of all open to learning new ways of supporting ourselves, and the goals we want to achieve after lockdown is over.
This means, getting creative about how you can still work on your body and goals from the comfort of your home.
You see, when you hit the pause button (and that’s ok if you do!), you accept that you can get weaker and stiffer during this time if you don't take any action. And if you are unwell, then taking time out to rest and recharge is very important.
Have you ever heard or been told: “Use it or lose it!” Muscles start to atrophy and weaken in as little as 24-48 hours of being immobile. Imagine what happens in 6-weeks or 12-weeks of not exercising?
I have always been passionate about helping clients. And I am even more passionate now given that we are all separated.
So, I am helping you in the only way I know I can, by encouraging, motivating and supporting you to move and strengthen your body in the time when you need support the most.
So, I am here for you I know you have worked so hard consistently to get stronger and more mobile before lockdown.
I have clients who have signed up for my 30-Day Rehab programs online and have taken control of their own rehab and exercising at home. They decided that they want to continue to improve their strength, flexibility, balance and mobility in spite of lockdown.
There is no right or wrong answer here. It is going to be unique for each of us.
To help you decide for yourself, I have a question for you: So ask yourself, “Are you willing to let the circumstances around lockdown dictate or control how you show up for your body?
Are you going to use it as an excuse to not show up for yourself?”
Take care, keep moving and stay healthy
