You may have been struggling with your body, your mobility, your balance, your independence for so long.
You know what it is like to drag your body around
You want to keep up with those you love
Even though your body may be screaming at you and saying I can’t keep up with you, I am struggling!
Part of you believes that you will never improve and no amount of effort or rehab will make this happen because it has not happened yet
The other part of you believes that you can still improve,
that things can get better and
you have seen this happening for so many people but not yourself and that hurts.
The usual status quo is changed when you reach your tipping point. The point at which you decide that doing things the way you have been and are is no longer possible.
Struggling with mobility is no longer possible
because there is a bigger reason for you to take action now,
for trying harder,
for putting more effort into making your goals and dreams of being more mobile, stronger and independent than you have put in before and
doing things the way you did in the past no longer feels right.
You see the tipping point comes from either an internal change or a strong external influence
If it’s an internal change then this often feels like a switch is flipped and suddenly: I
things have to change,
you are ready,
that voice inside you is pushing you forward, to take action, to work on your mobility and
this voice is stronger than anything someone else opinion of what you “should be” doing
If it’s an external change, then this could be wanting to be more independent, stronger and have better balance for your partner or child (ren) so that you can do more with them
Either way, once this happens, life as you knew it no longer feels right
The quote by Henry Cloud is so fitting here:
"We change our behaviour when the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of changing"
This is what it boils down to!
Now that driver internal or external is so strong, so compelling that you will move heaven and earth to make it happen.
And the voice in your head that says believe that change is possible for you, that progress is possible is getting louder and stronger.
That means that if you were happy to have things ticking over as they have been in the past,
Then, now this is no longer an option, and it feels exciting
because you want more for yourself,
you want more from life and
you want to live a life with your best self as you have always dreamt
Now it is about taking steady action that means putting in the time, doing your exercises daily to help make your body stronger
with the support, guidance and help of a sense of community rooting for your transformation and
celebrating your success when you progress and
shouldering your when you have moments of brief doubt along the way.
