It is crazy just how quickly time goes by.

Given the health crisis and the pandemic all around the world. We are being bombarded with information about COVID19 some true and some not. And, I know how stressful and challenging it can be to navigate this time.

But where our attention goes, our energy also flows.

Today's word of the day is resilience. I woke up and this word popped into my head. The dictionary describes resilience as "The capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness."When I googled the meaning of resilience that is what came up"Resilience means knowing how to cope in spite of setbacks, or barriers, or limited resources.

Resilience is a measure of how much you want something and how much you are willing, and able, to overcome obstacles to get it. It has to do with your emotional strength."I know the situation around us with lockdown seems like the wrong time to be thinking like this. But I promise you it is not.

We can still show up here and now for those in need around us as well as working on what we want to achieve and where we want to be heading towards.

So my question to you today is:

What do you want to be doing 6 months from now?

  1. Is it being able to run with your kids on the beach?
  2. Is it being able to keep up with your family as you walk together on family holidays like Disney land?
  3. Is it being able to walk 10,000 steps a day by yourself confidently and not needing any help?
  4. Is it being able to eat using both hands?
  5. Is it being able to hug your partner, or kids or both with both arms?

Where do you want to go, 6 months from now?

Whilst I know there is so much uncertainty around us, I believe it is still important to be taking action towards our own goals, hopes and dreams....because this is what keeps us going!....this is what gives us purpose and drive!

So what is that big goal you have for yourself 3 or 6 months from now that you have not thought about over the past 2 weeks whilst the focus has been about what is happening around us?

Right now we all have a unique opportunity to focus on what matters the most for each of us. And yes this will be different for each of us.

These times ask us to try different things as the "normal way" is not possible right now given everything that is going on around us.

Knowing that many may be indoors for a minimum of 12-weeks or more, I believe in giving you options of how you can take control of your rehabilitation and your mobility right now in the comfort of your home.

The 30-Day rehab series is designed so you can be exercising a little every day over a 30 day period. And this program can be re-used over a 3 month period as the exercises are designed to progressively challenge you with each week that passes.

These programs have all the exercises I have been using with some of you in your 1-2-1 sessions over the past few months and years that have helped to get the results that many of you had hoped you could achieve with your arm and or leg rehab. So all the exercises have been tried and tested in the clinic with some of you already.

The great thing is that you can use these programs as you see fit now whilst you are indoors. And I am here to help guide and support you as needed.

Working on your strength and mobility is the one thing each of us has control over.

So, the question you have to ask yourself is: Am I ready to invest in my health and mobility, so that I can continue to work on my mobility especially now given everything that we have going on around us?

Move More, Stay Safe and Healthy

Best Wishes
