It has been an interesting year with lots of stressful times.
Sometimes we push past our bodies capabilities.
Pre lockdown, this is something that I used to do at times as well when work demands were high.
During lockdown, my body was blessed with the opportunity to re-set and create a new way forward for my body as I navigated a new way of working from home juggling home and work life.
It was fascinating to watch and witness this change and transformation that took place.
Now, I realise the fine dance between rest and work and how important this is to really listen to your body and not brush off the information or override the information that it is giving you.
This new way is the only way forward for me now and there is no way that I can go back to the way things were before lockdown because I know how detrimental that pattern was for my body, myself and my health.
I have always been very good at listening to my body and what it needs out of work but not so good at navigating this during work.
Over these past 7 months I have changed this for the better and now more than ever I have a renewed relationship with myself and my body such that when it asks for rest on a workday or weekend, I now listen and honour the messages with gratitude I know there is no point pushing through when your body is tired, because running on empty is not good for your body, so rest is fundamental when you need it.
Winter adds another dimension where with the circadian rhythms influences our bodies to ask for more rest naturally.
So I want to leave you with a question:
Where have you been pushing past your body's limits?
How can you change this moving forward?
Love and Blessings
