Now looking back at my health and nutrition journey over the last 18 years, if you asked me then or even 10 or 5 years ago whether I would do a water fast, my answer is "absolutely No!"

But here's the thing, I have been preparing my body and mind for this over the years and this all started with a 7-day Juice fast that I did in 2013.

It is fascinating to what and witness the body's attachment to food. Don't get me wrong, I love good food. But during those 7-days I got to really listen to my body versus my stomach. My mind and stomach were saying feed me, but I wasn't really hungry.

Since then I have continued to use this deep listening to work towards then doing intermittent fasting which I have been doing for the past 3 years and my body loves it. What is so great is that you get to try these things out on your own terms. I first started with 14:10 ratio with fasting overnight and starting to eat dinner a bot earlier. This moved to 16:8 ratio when I kept my dinner at the earlier time and I started to have breakfast much later. first 10 am then 11 am and now at 12 pm. Now I do 18:6 ratio where my eating window is 6 hours between 12 pm and 6 pm.  It was only once my body was strong enough to comfortably do an 18:6 fast that I considered trying fasting.

There is currently clinical trials looking at fasting and MS. This makes total sense right because if we can tap into autophagy, we can help our bodies heal from the inside out. If you follow Dr Terry Wahls she also fasts and talks about the benefits of fasting.

Love and Blessings
